Dunorlan Park

Once a private landscaped garden, Dunorlan Park is now an historically important and much-loved public park. The Heritage Lottery Fund award of £2.1 million has enabled the restoration of Dunorlan's historic features and improved access into and around the park.

A little way out of town, on the A264, Dunorlan is spacious and elegant with wide grassy slopes and magnificent views across the lake to the Weald.

To find out more about the restoration, please look at: Restoration Project.

A number of popular events are held in Dunorlan Park and The Friends of Dunorlan Park also hold talks and guided walks on a range of topics.

You can now donate a tree or shrub in Dunorlan Park. For more information see our 'Tree and Shrub Donation Scheme' page.

Pond Dipping at Dunorlan Park

The Tunbridge Wells Borough Council in partnership with Kent High Weald Partnership (KHWP), Dunorlan Park Head Gardener Tony Ewins and the Friends of Dunorlan Park have been working to improve the small top pond. Volunteers from the Park, Tunbridge Wells Borough Council and KHWP all took part in constructing the pond dipping platforms, benches and tables. As well as improving the water quality and working on the island and the habitats around the waters edge.

All this work has made the pond area into a safe and fun resource for schools and local groups to enjoy. KHWP has created a pond dipping kit containing all the essentials needed for a session exploring the water world.

If you would like to book a Pond Dipping session for your school, club or organisation, please complete the booking form below and return to Helen Timms, Parks and Sports Team, Town Hall, Tunbridge Wells, Kent TN1 1RS or via email to parks@tunbridgewells.gov.uk
