Terms of Reference

To act as the Council’s Crime and Disorder Scrutiny Committee. To perform the overview and scrutiny role in relation to the following matters including any performance management issues arising and to deal with councillor calls for action as they arise in relation to these matters:

1. The development and implementation of the Council’s Corporate Improvement Plan, People Strategy and Sustainable Community Strategy.

2. Human Resources including workforce planning.

3. Voluntary, Community and Faith Sector, including grants.

4. Communications and consultation.

5. Community Safety and Community Development.

6. Community and Democratic Engagement.

7. Parishes.

8. Older and younger people.

9. Adult Services.

10. Education provision in the borough, including the local Children’s Service Partnership.

11. Equality and Diversity.

12. The Local Strategic Partnership, Community Safety Partnership, Local Area Agreement and Kent Partnership.
