Health and Caring

Welcome to the Health and Caring section of the Tunbridge Wells Borough Council Website

Health can mean many different things to many different people. The work we do at Tunbridge Wells Borough Council is mostly around keeping people healthy rather than delivering healthcare. The Council helps to ensure that food premises are safe, that people are living in healthy environments and that any problems that could affect health such as pests are taken care of as soon as possible. You can find out more about these services in our ‘Environment’ pages. The Council also works to provide suitable homes for local people by helping people get an affordable home and helping people to improve their home. You can find out more about these services in our ‘Housing’ pages.

The Healthier Communities Team at the Council works closely with the NHS to deliver activities to help you get, or stay, healthy. You can find out more about these activities on the Choosing Health pages or you can get more general advice about healthy living at NHS Direct.
