Concessions

Tunbridge Wells Borough Council is offering those on a low income the opportunity to benefit from reduced prices at the Council's three sports centres, the Assembly Hall Theatre, Trinity Theatre and the Queen's Hall Theatre, Cranbrook.

The scheme is called the Go!Card and entitles the cardholder to cheaper use of swimming pools, fitness studios, a health suite and a number of other activities including the Summer and Easter Holiday Programmes for Young People and selected performances at the Assembly Hall, Trinity and Queen's Hall Theatres.

The Go!Card is provided free of charge, is valid for 12 months and may be obtained from:

  • Tunbridge Wells Sports Centre
  • Weald Sports Centre, Cranbrook
  • Putlands Sports & Leisure Centre, Paddock Wood
  • The Gateway, Royal Tunbridge Wells
  • Weald Information Centre, Cranbrook

on production of the relevant proof of entitlement and a passport-sized photo.

Am I eligible for a Go!Card?

If you are in receipt of:

  • Income Support
  • Working Tax Credit
  • Jobseekers' Allowance
  • Council Tax Benefit (except for reasons of sole occupancy)
  • Housing Benefit
  • or are a full-time student aged 16 and above

...then you are eligible

What do I need in order to get a Go!Card?

Proof of eligibility; your benefit book, NUS card or clear statement on official headed paper confirming that you are within one of the categories listed above

Also a passport-size photo which can be cut out, this can be colour or black and white

How much does a Go!Card cost?

Nothing, the card is free

How long is the Go!Card valid?

For a maximum of 12 months from the date of issue. If your circumstances change during the period of your card your must surrender it to the site from which you received it.

If I obtained my card at Tunbridge Wells can I use it at the Weald Sports Centre or Putlands?

Yes, the card can be used at any of the centres regardless of where it was issued.

Which activities can I use my Go!Card for?

Swimming (peak and off peak), Fitness Studios, Health suite (off peak only) and some classes and racket sports.  Go!Card holders may also purchase monthly or annual memberships at reduced rates. The Go!Card also entitles the cardholder to concessionary ticket prices when offered at the three listed theatres.

What happens if I lose my Go!Card?

You will have to apply for a new card providing your proof of entitlement and another passport-sized photograph at your local sports centre or Council Office. For more information on how to obtain your Go!Card telephone your local sports centre or the Borough Council.
