It is essential that local authorities harness modern technology to provide and enhance their services to the community They also need to communicate effectively with local residents, with other authorities and partners, and with central government. The development of ICT in all our operations must, however, be on a planned and managed basis, consistent with government policy and targets, and in line with the needs and expectations of the local community.
