The Council's fortnightly collection of paper/cardboard and
plastic bottles/cans for recycling.
Green Box Recycling Collections
The scheme has been extended to include foil containers and
aluminium foil. (such as take away containers, ready meal
containers)
Every property within the borough has been supplied
with two green boxes one for the collection of
newspapers, magazines, junk mail, cardboard, telephone directories,
yellow pages, holiday brochures and another for plastic bottles and
cans. The service operates every two weeks on the same day as
your brown bin collection. (some flats may have different
arrangements for these collections)
Please ensure you keep your paper and cardboard separate
from the plastic bottles and cans.
Please rinse and squash all cans, foil trays and plastic bottles
you can fit more in your box this way and we can fit more in our
lorries, which is better for the environment. Aerosol cans
are accepted in the boxes but please do not attempt to squash
these).
Yogurt pots, butter and margarine tubs, food containers,
fruit and vegetable trays, wrapping film etc are not
accepted in the green box and should continue to be put into the
green wheelie bin.
Waxed drink cartons (tetrapaks) are not accepted for recycling
and should also be put into the green residual waste bin
For the orange and blue calendars detailing the service and your
week for recycling please open and view the pages in this
section at the bottom of the page.
If you do not have any of the green boxes , please
contact the Borough Council on 01892 526121 or e-mail: info@tunbridgewells.gov.uk
Please continue to support the Council's recycling initiatives
by taking your glass bottles and jars, old textiles/shoes to
the collection banks, provided at various locations throughout the
borough.
