Housing Benefit helps people pay their rent. Council Tax Benefit helps with Council Tax. Both are based on savings and income. Although the rules are set by Parliament, they are awarded by local authorities.

Child Benefit: Changes to Housing and Council Tax Benefit Claims

Great news if you receive Child Benefit and need help with your rent or Council Tax.

From 2 November 2009 Child Benefit will not be counted as an income for all Housing and Council Tax Benefit claims. So, if you did not qualify before due to high income you may now be able to get some help.

It costs nothing to claim. For more details please contact us on 01892 526121.
