Weald Forest Ridge - BCTV are recruiting volunteers
Over the coming months BTCV aims to launch 4
new conservation groups across the Weald Forest Ridge as part of a
£3.3million 3-year project to engage with local people. Meeting on
a monthly basis each group will have the opportunity to tackle a
range of tasks across a variety of sites and habitats; from
coppicing in ancient woodland, creation and maintenance of wildlife
ponds, heathland restoration, horticultural work within the Ridge’s
historic parklands, to taking part in our on-going flora and fauna
surveys.
“By recruiting Ridge residents and volunteers
from neighbouring towns this programme will focus on reconnecting
people with the Weald Forest Ridge landscape,” explained Project
Officer Warren Young.
“Skills creation and practical
conservation activities will help volunteers to care for their
area, whilst a series of “Weald” awareness talks will encourage
volunteers to cherish the Weald Forest Ridge Features.”
Whatever your circumstances we can help you
achieve what you are looking for; check our website and register
your interest for opportunities across the Weald Forest Ridge. Help
BTCV conserve this special landscape heritage.
For more information and to get involved in a
task near you, contact Warren Young on or 07740
